Welcome. My plan is to use this site to document miscellaneous things I learn. I wouldn’t call this a blog, rather short form tutorial style posts of things I find interesting. I’m unsure of the frequency or the topics of these posts, but my goal is to post here as I learn things I want to remember.

Why do this? Well, I’ve always been an avid note taker. For many many years I’ve used a specific note taking app, but I’ve become increasingly dissatisfied with it. I’ll spare you the details, but it’s gotten to a point where I wanted to seek alternatives.

I knew that I wanted to use an open format I was familiar with and that I could easily manipulate, and I wanted something where I had full control over the entire stack, including how I view and search notes. That’s how I ended up here. We’ll see how it goes, but so far I’m happy with this solution.

As for making these public, I know there will always be a need for private notes, but I’ve also realized that many of the notes I have don’t need to be private. Many of my notes are often the culmination of me struggling for hours (or days) trying to figure something out. Maybe these notes can help someone else down the line.

So here we are. I don’t plan on making a lot of noise about this site, but if you happen to find yourself here, I hope you find something useful.
